Sleep

I know that all mom's can sympathize with me on this one that the moment your baby arrives in this world you take on new sleep patterns. I however forgot what it was like to have a newborn already and have a 14 week old that has reminded me everyday this week what it was like! It has been a week now since Addie has decided that she wants to get up in the middle of the night...by middle of the night I mean 3 or 4 am. Now I am sure this isn't bad to most of you, but since she has been sleeping 10-12 hrs since she was 6 weeks old and I am back to work, this is so hard! Last night she was up at 12am, 3am and 6am...

So my question is, did any of you moms experience this with your kids and what did you do? We are going to try supplementing formula (a suggestion for the Dr.) or I thought about starting rice cereal just once at night...but I need advice and a good nights sleep again!

Sorry you're not getting sleep, I totally understand! I wish there was a perfect cure all or I could say it will end sometime soon! with both our girls though, it was usually either teething that suddenly interrupted sleep patterns or the milk supply. Keira started rice cereal around 4 months and that helped. She also started teething around then so teething tabs saved our life. If she's just up wanting to play, sometimes that can just be a phase and not the other. The rule of thumb seems to be that once you think you've got their schedule figured out, they'll change! we'll pray for some sleep for you all!

Darling little girl, just found your blog somehow! Addison was tops on our list for our most recent addition. Love that name!

Don't know if you've tried the miracle blanket, but it was hugely helpful in the early months with our second born. We also did early rice cereal with him. Tummy sleeping made all the difference for our kids. Once they would roll a little and were good and strong, we'd put them on their bellies. Much happier.

If it would help to know that it could be worse or that you are simply not alone, you can read about my night this week...

You will forget the lack of sleep and most other negatives all too soon, don't worry!

Blessings on your journey.
